After the pitcher is filled with ice cubes, tea (either loose or bags) is placed in the special paperless filter, and an adjustment for mild, medium, or strong brewing is selected. The lid snaps on. A receptacle slides out from underneath the heating unit which then holds the pitcher snugly in place. Water is added to the heating unit, the power button pushed, and the hot water drips through the tea filter into the pitcher of ice. When brewing is complete, the power automatically shuts off for safety. Complete directions for use are embossed on the slide-out receptacle, which eliminates worries about losing a user guide. Although the iced tea maker looks bulky when assembled, the pitcher inverts snugly over the heating unit for compact storage. Able to fit in most refrigerator doors, the 2-quart pitcher features a hollow, comfortable handle and a thumb release for the lid, but is not dishwasher-safe. I drink tea all day, everyday. I've bought several different tea makers over the years and this one is by far the best. So simple to use and easy to clean. Allows you to use tea leaves or bags and has 3 settings for strength. No timer needed.. just start and walk away. If you get busy and forget about the tea, it is OK! Perfect for a busy person that loves fresh tea!! Rating: - Easy Easy to use, easy to clean. Just used it for the first time and got some great iced tea out of it. We used the regular size tea bags (7 of them) but have the family size bags to try out, too. Set it on medium and in 10 minutes, we were enjoying fresh iced tea. Easy enough to use that I think we'll get a lot of use out of it. Rating: - bad smell regardless of how many times I've run water through the tea maker, the tea has a terrible "plastic" aftertaste. makes the machine unusable. I do not think that the tea brews strong enough. even though I set it to strong brew.
